The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1791D-16V0 module is a CompactBlock I/O 1791D series base input module. It has 16 sourcing inputs and a DeviceNet adapter in addition to a built-in power supply. The 1791D-16V0 base input module can operate on its own or it can operate while connected to an expansion input module or an expansion output module. This module produces 2 input bytes and consumes no output bytes on its own. With an expansion input module, the 1791D-16V0 base input module produces 5 input bytes and consumes no output bytes, and with an expansion output module, it produces 3 input bytes and consumes 2 output bytes.
